I really enjoyed coming here. It is just a house but it's got enough here to just spend a hour or two mulling over the displays. And the cafe does amazing food. Want to cover back in the summer to see the gardens in full bloom

Lovely place. Wonderful view. Best salad ever (but will ask for a little less salt next time).

John Ruskins house on the shore of coniston. Absolutely beautiful in every aspect. The house is lovely and gives an insight into Ruskin the philosopher artist poet and author. It leaves you wanting to learn more about him his compassion for the working class poor and his association with the national trust in its early days. The gardens are extensive with lots to see and the tea room cafe is as you would expect worth visiting. The house is owned by the Ruskin trust not the national trust so expect to pay an entrance fee but it's worth every penny.

I visited here as DJ for a wedding, and found the staff caring, and very helpful. The food was tasty too. The views looking towards the west side of Coniston are beautiful.

Only used the cafe, which I think would be lovely all year round and doesn't require entry to the house. Fantastic views across to Coniston on a clear day. Decent food options.
