Accomodation and views are second to none, my only reservation is the fine dining experience. I don't eat much but the main meal of roasted sweet potato was miniscule and could have benefited from at least a little more veg. Saying that the flavour was wonderful but 24 for four single items of food was a bit much. My advice would be stay there, enjoy the wonderful breakfast and the fabulous seating areas but have your evening meal elsewhere unless you are on a diet.

Amazing. Got married here and I cannot sing the praises of the staff here. They're amazing.Food is amazing too. Can't be more helpful, the rooms where spotless. We had no issue but I'm sure if you did it would be sorted in a flash.Spa is amazing too. Me and my bridesmaid came here and had the pool to ourselves! Amazing.Loved it, and will definitely be returning for anniversaries

A hotel is judged in many different ways but regardless if your priorities it is still the overall package that counts. One minor personal incident should not detract from an objective review. In the case of The Lakeside Hotel it is the completeness of the hotel. Great facilities, spa, gym, indoor pool, large conservatory overlooking Lake Windermere, two restaurants, one contemporary and informal the other traditional and slightly more formal. Attentive abundant staff at hand. Valet parking, great afternoon teas. The rooms overlooking the lake are splendid. Clean, comfortable and of a decent size. Could more extras be added, sure, but this is not an American hotel chain so ice machines and candy vending machines are nowhere in sight. What you have is a classical British hotel, filled with a good amount of tradition (like tea in teapots and gentlemen staff in black tie for dinner) do not let this put you off, rather the opposite you will enjoy and seek this level of service elsewhere, mix this with well-trained personnel who know what service means. Always a pleasure to stay here for a few days....I could continue but I will leave it to others to take up the story, but my advice is to book, enjoy and pass on your experience to others.

Fantastic hotel. We've stayed here many times over the years and it has become a firm family favourite. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the staff are very friendly, the food is excellent and the location is fantastic. The pool and spa are wonderful. Not cheap but definitely worth it.

Everything about this place is incredibly highly polished. Residents get free use of the pool and gym. The a pianist who is very charming and plays requests. The steak I had was one of the best I've ever had (certainly top 5). I should probably mark it down a star because the rooms and beer are so expensive, but can't bring myself to do so.
